Imagine growing up in a single parent home with a mother that worked tirelessly to care for you and your two older siblings; yet still made time to provide guidance and motivation… Imagine, even during frequent moments of rebellion and struggle, having a relentless mother that believed and instilled a “can-do” attitude in her children…
Being the youngest and the only boy ultimately “man of the house” had its perks and downfalls- expectations and consequences; trials and errors.
His early life was riddled with teenage angst, run-ins with the law, trouble in school, and even an unexpected teenage pregnancy-sequentially changing his course. Choosing to be a responsible new father led Patrick to join the Air Force in 2003, at age-18, immediately after obtaining his high school diploma opposed to pursuing a track career in college. Little did he know how much the “can-do” attitude taught by his mother would carry him through startling moments of adversity. “Can- do,” resonated with and motivated Patrick; through self evaluation and the assistance of positive thinking it became apparent to Patrick that he had a purpose.
